Maintenance Technician (HVAC)

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician with HVAC experience to join a local apartment home community in Cary, NC. This role is critical to ensuring the upkeep and functionality of the property, addressing maintenance needs, and providing a safe and comfortable living environment for residents.

Location: Cary, NC

Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM or 7:30 AM-4:30 PM (Once established, schedule will include on-call rotation)

Employment Type: Full-Time, Temp-to-Perm

Pay: $18-22 Hourly, DOE

Key Responsibilities

-Prepare units for new tenants, including cleaning, painting, minor repairs, and inspections.

-Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.

-Address basic electrical repairs such as replacing outlets, light fixtures, and circuit breakers.

-Repair leaks, unclog drains, replace fixtures, and ensure proper functioning of plumbing systems.

-Perform general repairs such as patching drywall, fixing doors/windows, and installing hardware.

-Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues and perform preventive care.

-Handle on-call responsibilities after the initial onboarding period for urgent maintenance needs.

Qualifications

-Proven experience in apartment maintenance, facilities management, or a related field.

-Basic knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical systems, and plumbing.

-Skilled in using hand tools and power tools.

-Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various physical conditions (climbing ladders, standing for extended periods, etc.).

-Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

-Excellent communication and customer service skills.

-Availability for on-call responsibilities once established in the role.

Preferred Skills

-HVAC certification or relevant licenses are a plus.

-Familiarity with maintenance management software is a bonus.
