Shop Lead / Expediter
We are seeking a Shop Lead/Expediter to join our team. This critical role will ensure all shop projects are completed accurately, efficiently, and on time, helping us maintain the reliability of our fleet and equipment.
Responsibilities:
Serve as the main point of contact for managing and expediting shop projects.
Oversee and coordinate the workflow of shop mechanics to ensure timely and accurate completion of repairs and maintenance.
Inspect completed work to validate quality, accuracy, and adherence to company standards before vehicles or equipment leave the shop.
Prioritize and schedule repair and maintenance tasks to minimize downtime for fleet operations.
Communicate project timelines, priorities, and updates effectively with team members and management.
Identify recurring issues and implement solutions to prevent rework and improve shop efficiency.
Monitor shop inventory to ensure necessary parts and tools are available for upcoming jobs.
Maintain detailed records of completed work, equipment status, and team performance.
Enforce safety protocols and ensure the shop operates in compliance with company policies and OSHA regulations.
Requirements:
Proven experience in a supervisory or lead role within a mechanical shop, preferably in the concrete, construction, or heavy equipment industry.
Strong knowledge of mechanical repairs and maintenance for mixers, dump trucks, and other heavy equipment.
Bilingual: Must be fluent in both English and Spanish to effectively communicate with a diverse team.
Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize and expedite tasks effectively.
Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and management.
Attention to detail and commitment to ensuring work is completed accurately.
Ability to troubleshoot and implement solutions to recurring repair issues.
Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations related to fleet and shop operations.
Proficiency in maintaining records and documentation for shop operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience working with concrete mixers, supers, and dump trucks.
Experience implementing process improvements to reduce downtime and improve quality.
