Experienced gardener/manager with Triflorum Designs
Triflorum Designs is looking for a candidate to join our team starting early April! We are a small, woman-owned ecological and artistic landscape design firm based in Portland, ME. We specialize in lush native gardens, dynamic container plantings, indoor plant design, and custom floral installations. We are looking for a driven, creative, experienced, detail-oriented, and passionate person to manage the garden maintenance arm of the business, working solo or managing 1-2 crew members on properties after a training period. This position will focus on overall management of client gardens (spring and fall cleanups, weeding, pruning, deadheading, and other general garden maintenance tasks) as well as assisting with commercial installations, container planting, plant selection, and client communication. This is a position with independence and room to grow. We are looking for someone who is potentially open to a longer-term commitment and who might be interested in taking on some residential clients independently as we continue to grow and shift. Schedule is flexible but likely 3-4 days a week - potential for full-time with the right fit. We mostly work in the greater Portland area.
Here's what we are looking for in a candidate:
- Significant experience in horticulture (gardening, farming, or nursery work) and a desire to continue in the field
- Excellent communication (customer or client-facing experience preferred)
- A positive attitude and a lot of flexibility
- A love of being outside and working with your hands
- Ability to work a very physical job, be moving and on your feet all day, and lift up to 50 lbs
- An eye for design and keen attention to detail
- Strong problem solving skills
You'll have the opportunity to:
