Production Manager / Supervisor - Welding, Fabrication & Manufacturing
Tampa based equipment manufacturer looking for a Plant Manager with a hands-on, roll up your sleeves work ethic.
You will be comfortable working in industrial manufacturing environment with up to 10 lathes and machinists, dozens of welders, assemblers in a busy steel fabrication equipment manufacturing environment.
You will take a lead role in a 90 year old equipment manufacturing company which employs up to 50 factory workers every day across two shifts.
You will participate in weekly production meetings and be able to provide detailed input with regards to the current factory jobs order list. What work order are behind schedule, which are ahead of schedule and which are on schedule and why.
You will have good experience of tracking equipment builds and managing a teams around you who take care of design, parts and components ordering, steel cutting, machining, welding and final equipment assembly.
Materials management is an important aspect of this job. The company has a large inventory of gearboxes, moters, screens, screws, VFD's. If you like lists, spreadsheets and organizing inventory lists then this could be perfect home for you.
You should be proactive and take the initiative to seek things that are broken, and fix them. Seek things that are going well and give those team members the recognition they deserve.
It's a busy production environment and there are always things to do and interesting projects to get involved in.
-We are not looking for a Welder but we need someone who understands welding: MIG, TIG and Stick.
-We are not looking for a Machinist but we need someone who is confortable and thrives around large scale industrial equipment.
-We are not looking for a fork lift driver or over-head crane operator, but you should feel comfortable hopping on a fork lift to unload 3 ton pieces of machinery and raw materials that arrive on a daily basis on full load trailers.
-We are not looking for a maintenance person, but if something breaks down in the factory you should feel comfortable rolling up your sleeves and grabbing other workers to take on issue head-on.
-We need someone with the confidence and previous manufacturing environment experience to be a natural leader for the dozens of hard working factory workers who enable the delivery of over a million dollars worth of equipment every month.
This is a 40% factory office job and a 60% walk the floor, tracking progress and problem solving job progress issues.
You will have a great team around you with lead men, team leads, and top notch welders/machinists to get the job that you have in front of you, done.
