Biller / Scheduler- Part Time

Clinic: Puget Sound Psychology & Consulting, Lynnwood, WA

Hours: Flexible, Part-time (6-8 hours/week)

Type: Hybrid, in-person and remote

Compensation: $20-25/hour

We are looking to contract with a qualified and dedicated Mental Health Medical Biller & Scheduler to join our inclusive and affirming mental health practice. This part-time, hybrid (in-person and remote) role involves mental health billing, insurance claims, and client scheduling while ensuring compliance with privacy and security requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Medical Billing & Insurance:

o Verify client insurance coverage and obtain pre-authorizations when necessary.

o Ensure accurate client demographic and insurance information.

o Submit electronic claims, investigate denials, and process appeals.

o Generate and send client invoices, reconciling payments from insurance and clients.

o Communicate with clients regarding billing inquiries and outstanding balances.

Scheduling & Administrative Support:

o Manage client appointments, cancellations, and rescheduling.

o Coordinate provider schedules to optimize availability.

o Send appointment reminders and follow-ups as needed.

o Ensure efficient scheduling while maintaining client confidentiality.

Qualifications & Skills

Experience in medical / mental health billing, insurance claims processing, and patient scheduling preferred.

Proficiency with medical billing software and electronic health records (EHR).

Strong data entry, reconciliation, and organizational skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication using inclusive and affirming language.

Ability to work independently, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
