Oven Operator
A. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITYPerform all aspects of oven operation, including loading and unloading the oven, take temperatures of exiting cakes for doneness and various testing. Fill in on batter line and/or packaging line as needed.B. NATURE AND SCOPE OF POSITION.Position requires operators to load and unload the oven, prepare and apply glaze, inject syrup, and perform various testing. All personnel are responsible for reporting immediately all safety, food safety and quality issues to management. This position affects quality and food safety.C. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS1. Ensure the production and packaging of premium bakery products meet Beatrice Bakery Company quality standards, under safe, legal and sanitary conditions, while controlling direct production costs and adhering to the production schedule.2. Load and unload the oven repeatedly. Water pans weigh between 25-40 lbs. Some batters require watering.3. Apply basic math skills to figure baking schedule and times.4. Monitor the oven to ensure that it is functioning properly.5. Perform various testing, including but not limited to, allergens and microbial.6. Clean all equipment used in the oven area.7. Prepare and apply glaze or inject syrup. Some batters require extra attention while baking – operators must stay at the oven to perform added duties.8. Prepare topping cart for the next day’s production.9. Fill in on batter line or packaging line as needed.10. Accomplish other tasks as assigned by Production Team Leader and/or Production Superintendent.
