Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Disability Support at Event Camp
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide care and assistance to individuals with disabilities attending an event camp. This role requires providing personal care, medical assistance, and ensuring the safety and comfort of all participants throughout the event. The CNA will collaborate with other staff members to create an inclusive, supportive, and enriching camp experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist individuals with disabilities in daily activities, including bathing, dressing, eating, and mobility.
Monitor the health and well-being of participants, reporting any concerns or changes in condition to medical staff.
Provide first aid and emergency response when necessary, following camp protocols.
Support campers in participating in recreational activities, ensuring their safety and comfort.
Administer medications as prescribed and maintain accurate records.
Assist with meal preparation and feeding when needed.
Ensure proper hygiene and cleanliness of participants, as well as camp facilities.
Encourage and promote socialization and engagement among campers.
Participate in training sessions for staff on disability awareness, safety protocols, and emergency procedures.
Maintain confidentiality and respect privacy of all campers and their families.
Provide emotional support and create a positive, welcoming environment for all campers.
Qualifications:
Current CNA certification.
Previous experience in a healthcare or caregiving setting, especially with individuals with disabilities, is preferred.
Ability to perform physical tasks, such as lifting or assisting with mobility.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as part of a team.
Empathy, patience, and a positive attitude toward working with individuals with disabilities.
Ability to stay calm and focused in emergency situations.
A commitment to providing high-quality, respectful care to all individuals.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, assist with mobility, and perform other physical tasks related to patient care.
Ability to remain on feet for extended periods.
Ability to participate in outdoor activities and assist in the camp setting.
