Looking for experienced RN or LPN for home health
I am looking for a caregiver / personal assistant for myself, a 43 year-old male with ALS. I was diagnosed almost 13 years ago and plan on being around for a long time! I am a writer, love sports and enjoy going out with my friends. Due to the physical demands, I would prefer a male. But I am open to a very strong woman! (must be able to bear a full weight of 145 lbs for transfers).
My ex- wife and I have a 7year-old daughter, who is amazing! I have partial custody. So that means that you MUST be good with kids. If you’re not a parent, and or have any experience in child care, this isn’t the job for you.
The ideal candidate will be smart, compassionate, and professional. We are very patient and understanding, but we also expect the best from our team. We understand that this is a physically demanding job, so if you’re looking for companion care or you rely heavily on a routine, this is not the job for you. This position requires someone that is organized, reasonably tech savvy, teachable, and able to show initiative. You must have some health care experience!
I prefer a professional, mature, educated individual who understands boundaries and responsibilities. Someone that understands the importance of routine but isn't a robot either. We can teach the necessary medical skills, but we can't teach empathy or a solid work ethic. This is a great gig for the right person!
Work day could could include any of the following duties:
Dressing
Transferring
Personal grooming/showers
Making appointments
Driving accessible van
Running errands
Feeding (tube)
Attending meetings, events, or sports
Light housekeeping
The schedule is three 12 hour shifts per week with at least one weekend day. It would be a huge plus if you're able to do an occasional overnight shift.
Please include a resume and a lot of character in your email.
You will have to pass a drug test and a background check!.
