Position: Pediatric Dental Assistant
Location: Land O Lakes, Wesley Chapel, Clearwater
Hours: 8:00 to 5:00 - Monday thru Friday
What You'll Do:
Patient Care:
Comforting and Engaging Children: This is paramount! Pediatric dental assistants create a friendly and welcoming environment to ease children's anxiety and make them feel comfortable during their visit.
Patient Education: They teach children and their parents about proper oral hygiene techniques, such as brushing, flossing, and fluoride treatments.
Diet Counseling: They may provide guidance on healthy eating habits that promote good oral health.
Clinical Assistance:
Chairside Assistance: They assist the pediatric dentist during dental procedures, such as examinations, fillings, and extractions.
Instrument Preparation and Sterilization: They prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment to maintain a sterile and safe environment.
X-ray Assistance: They may assist with taking and developing dental X-rays.
Applying Sealants: They may apply dental sealants to prevent cavities.
Administrative Duties:
Scheduling Appointments: They may schedule appointments for patients.
Maintaining Records: They maintain patient records and update patient information.
Insurance Verification: They may assist with insurance verification and billing procedures.
Key Skills for Pediatric Dental Assistants:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: Essential for interacting with children and their parents.
Patience and compassion: Working with children requires a high level of patience and understanding.
Strong organizational and time-management skills: To manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Attention to detail: Ensuring accurate patient records and maintaining a sterile environment is crucial.
Technical skills: Proficiency in dental assisting procedures and the use of dental equipment.

Experience in a dental or medical office is a plus, but not required
