Gift Shop & Office Manager
Overview
The Gift Shop & Office Manager at Box Studio & Sculpture Garden reports directly to the Executive Director and is responsible for overseeing front-of-house operations. This includes managing in-person and digital communications, retail sales, staff scheduling, event coordination, office administration, and the upkeep of the gift shop and sculpture garden.
Key Responsibilities
Front of House (FOH)
Greet visitors and provide detailed information about the studio, artworks, artists, and local area.
Order, receive, and stock merchandise from vendors; track inventory and manage point-of-sale transactions.
Oversee cash handling, bookkeeping, and daily sales records.
Respond to voicemail and email messages promptly and effectively.
Assist in training volunteers/staff to ensure the FOH is adequately staffed during all operating hours.
Coordinate staff schedules for tours, special events, and general operations.
Promotions
Keep updated with event calendars, press releases, and promotions for Box Studio & Sculpture Garden.
Manage digital marketing, including social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, TripAdvisor)
Collaborate with the Executive Director on promotional strategies and event planning.
Maintenance & Office Management
Ensure the office is stocked, organized, and efficient for daily operations.
Manage mail and shipping, including USPS, FedEx, and UPS.
Maintain a clean and inviting gift shop, bathroom, and employee areas.
Oversee the cleanliness and maintenance of the sculpture garden, including sculptures, paths, signage, trash removal, and landscaping (such as weeding).
Run errands as needed to support operations.

Qualifications
Sales
Experience in working and ordering with vendors
Proficiency with computers (Mac preferred), including programs such as iCal, Dropbox, Square, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge of social media platforms and digital marketing tools to post for our garden and studio.
Highly organized with a strong attention to detail in both physical and digital spaces.
Ability to learn and retain detailed knowledge about artworks, pricing, and descriptions.
Additional Information
This is a full time, on-site position with somewhat flexible hours annually, requiring 5 days a week. We value individuals who take pride in maintaining a high standard of organization, cleanliness, and customer service in a creative, fast-paced environment.
