Pipefitter for HVAC Systems
Job Overview:
Our construction firm is a highly regarded General, Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing contractor, successfully completing construction projects and mechanical services for the federal government throughout the United States. We are currently under contract to complete an HVAC renovation project at the VA Hospital in Temple, TX.
We are seeking a skilled Pipefitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation and repair of piping systems in various settings, including commercial and industrial environments. The Pipefitter must possess strong technical skills, including the ability to read blueprints and perform welding tasks. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can work independently and as part of a team to ensure that all piping systems operate as designed.
Duties:
Layout, Install, and assemble steel/copper piping systems according to specifications and blueprints.
Experience and can work alone to perform and complete threaded, welded, and flanged pipe fittings.
Perform welding tasks using various techniques, including FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding).
Utilize basic math skills to calculate measurements and dimensions for pipe fitting.
Conduct inspections of piping systems to identify leaks or malfunctions.
Use tools such as calipers and gauges to ensure precise measurements.
Collaborate with HVAC technicians to install and maintain heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems a plus.
Troubleshoot issues with existing piping systems and make necessary repairs.
Follow safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
Requirements:
Proven Journeyman experience (minimum of 5+ years) as a Pipefitter or in a similar role.
Proficient in blueprint reading and interpretation.
Provide hand tools relevant to your trade.
Strong welding skills with knowledge of FCAW techniques.
Basic math skills for accurate measurements and calculations.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Knowledge of HVAC systems is a plus.
Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor tasks.
Clean criminal and driving record with a current valid driver's license.
