Experienced Bookkeeper - Assistant Property Manager
A Property Management Bookkeeper is a key administrative role responsible for the financial aspects of property management operations. This position requires a strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and proficiency in Appfolio software is a big PLUS. The Bookkeeper will support the property management team by maintaining accurate financial records, processing tenant payments, and ensuring compliance with accounting regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
Process tenant rent payments and ensure timely deposit.
Reconcile bank accounts and prepare monthly financial reports.
Manage tenant ledger accounts, including charges and credits.
Assist with the preparation of annual property budgets.
Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting and tax regulations.
Appfolio Proficiency:
Utilize Appfolio software for all accounting functions, including rent collection, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial data within the Appfolio system.
Troubleshoot any issues related to financial transactions within the Appfolio platform.
Tenant Management:
Assist with tenant onboarding and lease execution.
Communicate with tenants regarding rent payments, late fees, and other financial matters.
Address tenant inquiries and resolve payment disputes.
Administrative Support:
Assist with general office administration tasks as needed.
Maintain accurate and organized financial records.
Comply with all company policies and procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
PROVEN EXPERIENCE IN BOOKKEEPING A MUST, preferably within the property management industry.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
