Office and Lumber Sales Position
Tahoe City Lumber Company is looking for a versatile, detail-oriented team member to join our office staff. This role involves working directly with contractors; managing purchases and deliveries and coordinating daily operations. Your role will include sales, customer service and logistics operations.
You’ll work closely with our entire team, and report to the General Manager to keep operations running smoothly. A profound understanding of lumber dimensions, hardware, building materials and applications is a plus, though we’re happy to train the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
This position requires your presence Monday - Friday 40 hours/per week.
Build and maintain relationships with contractors and customers to support sales and service goals.
Promptly respond to customer inquiries via phone and email. This includes writing larger bid proposals and material quotes.
Oversee logistics and delivery operations, by coordinating with the yard foreman and drivers to ensure accurate and timely shipments.
Process custom mill and special orders and schedule deliveries or pickups.
Maintain accurate and organized files to assist in managing inventory, placing and receiving orders.
Work with vendors to obtain material pricing and ensure product availability.
Maintain a professional and organized workspace while contributing to the overall efficiency of daily operations.
Preferred Skills:
Excellent knowledge of MS Office.
Sound basic math skills crucial for lumber sales.
Strong computer skills and understanding of building products software platforms.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
