Welder/Mechanic OR Entry Level Mechanic

Prineville, Oregon Family-owned business wanting to hire a full-time welder/mechanic and/or mechanic to our team. The shift is typically 10 hours per day-5 days per week. We offer competitive hourly pay and overtime, and the rates are based on skill/experience.

Our mechanic team have a nice heated shop maintaining our heavy haul tractors, trailers and heavy equipment. The ideal candidates are certified grade welders or experienced mechanics, entry level mechanics must have some mechanic school or some mechanic experience. Welders must be willing to learn basic tractor-trailer PM mechanic work and minor repairs.

Some of our experienced mechanics earn $90,000-$100,000 or more per/year and with the recent pay increase they will have even more earning potential.

TYPICAL DUTIES: Include basic PM services and other repairs depending on skills.

Provide assistance to other mechanics

Special projects or duties, as assigned.

Equipment inspections/DOT inspections.

Support service/repairs in the field.

Pick up parts and other supplies as needed.

Keep work area clean and organized.

Electrical troubleshooting

Hydraulic troubleshooting/repairs.

Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety

Tools

Desire to learn the diesel mechanic trade.

Pass pre-employment drug screen

Maintain a positive working relationship with other mechanics and our drivers
