About the Role
Do you have an uncanny ability to listen to machines and understand what they need? Can you coax a reluctant motor back to life, fine-tune a pump to hum like a song, or align gears so they work in perfect harmony? We’re searching for a Machinery Whisperer—someone who fixes, optimizes, and tames mechanical forces while ensuring safety and sharing their knowledge with others.
This role is for the mechanically gifted—those who see beyond the parts and into the soul of the machine. Whether it’s a worn-down pulley, a stubborn piston, or a mysterious rattle, you have the patience and skill to diagnose, repair, and improve. More than just a fixer, you help others understand and respect these powerful tools.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair motors, pumps, pistons, gears, and other mechanical systems.
- Optimize machinery for efficiency, safety, and longevity.
- Teach and mentor community members in safe operation, maintenance, and repair techniques.
- Troubleshoot and solve mechanical mysteries with curiosity and care.
- Source, salvage, and repurpose materials when needed.
- Keep a well-organized workspace with proper tools and safety protocols.
