General Manager Modern Mexican Restaurant
Copita Tequileria y Comida is a vibrant neighborhood restaurant in Willow Glen on the corner of Lincoln Ave and Willow St. We serve seasonal, modern Mexican food and offer over 100 tequilas and mezcals, along with an innovative cocktail and beverage program. Copita is open for lunch Thursday - Sunday and dinner nightly with indoor and outdoor seating on two levels. In collaboration with Chef/Owner Joanne Weir, the two kitchens are led by Executive Chef Azari Cuenca-Maitret. We are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead our front-of-house operations.
Job Overview
As General Manager, you are a leader of a team of 50+ FOH people and you will be a driving force for everything that happens within the four walls of our restaurant. You will be instrumental in hiring, training and supervision of all front-of-house employees and help ensure we are utilizing the successful programs we have developed for our restaurants. The best candidates have experience with controlling labor costs, providing guest-focused leadership, and group dining event planning and execution. This position has the opportunity to receive commissions for events that are planned and executed onsite.
QUALIFICATIONS
2+ years as General Manager of Mexican or other high volume ($5 million+) Full-Service Restaurant
Strong leadership skills: leads through action and teamwork on the floor each and every shift; coaches with confidence; sets clear direction and vision for everyone on the team
Group dining and banquet experience
Experience with key technologies: Toast, Resy, RASI (Back Office)
Detail and solution oriented
Accountable and reliable
Works well under pressure and is on the floor during service supporting the team and engaging with guests
Capable of giving and receiving positive and critical feedback in an effective manner
Clear and effective communicator: ability to communicate in a clear, direct, timely and respectful fashion, both verbally and in writing
Confident and effective in interacting with customers to address any issues (positive or negative), both in-person, over the phone, and via email
Creative problem-solver and excellent at follow-up and task completion

Salary: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
