About the role:
As a Lead Finisher you will be responsible for the finishing area. You will be training new hires as well as leading the finishing team.
Your Responsibilities will include:
- Preparing
Preparing parts for finishing
- Finishing
Applying Spray and Wipe-On Stains
As well as troubleshoot various finish problems
- Quality control
Oversee the assembly of products to ensure they meet quality standards
- Training
Train employees and provide feedback on their performance
- Problem resolution
Address complaints and resolve production issues
- Maintenance
Perform equipment repairs and preventive maintenance
- Safety
Promote a safe work culture
- Continuous improvement
Develop and implement measures to improve the department
Required Skills and Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (additional training or certification in carpentry, woodworking, or related field preferred).
Proven experience in woodworking, carpentry, or cabinet-making.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.
Proficiency in using hand and power tools, such as saws, drills, and sanders.
Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods.
Good mathematical and measuring skills for precise cuts and assembly.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Familiarity with workplace safety standards and personal protective equipment (PPE).
Attention to detail: A strong eye for color and attention to fine detail
Technical skills: Knowledge of finishing techniques
Communication skills: The ability to interact with clients and subcontractors
Valid Drives License
Reliable Automobile
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with high-end custom architectural woodwork or cabinetry.
Knowledge of wood types, finishes, and woodworking techniques.
Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and climb ladders frequently.
Use of hand tools and power tools for extended periods.
Work Environment:
Primarily in a workshop or manufacturing environment.
Exposure to sawdust, wood particles, and loud machinery (PPE is required).
