Experienced Sous Chef
Are you an experienced line cook or sous chef looking for a new challenge in a small, fast-paced kitchen? A local Marblehead bar/restaurant is starting a unique bar food concept offering a limited menu with fresh, high-quality ingredients, and we’re looking for a skilled individual to join our team.
We are seeking a passionate and reliable line cook / sous chef with a strong background in cooking, kitchen management, and ordering to work in our small-volume kitchen. In this position, you will be responsible for executing the menu to perfection, ensuring consistency, quality, and speed in every dish.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and execute a limited menu of bar food items
Ensure dishes meet our high standards for quality, consistency, and presentation
Manage kitchen operations, including food prep, cooking, and plating
Handle ordering and inventory management for the kitchen
Work independently or alongside one other cook during busy weekends
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen
Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times
Assist with training and mentoring of junior kitchen staff
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a line cook or sous chef in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Strong understanding of kitchen operations, food safety, and inventory management
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively, especially during peak hours
Comfortable working long hours, including some Sundays (not all Sundays are mandatory)
Strong communication skills and a team player mentality
A positive attitude and willingness to work hard in a collaborative environment
A passion for food and commitment to delivering an exceptional dining experience
