Overview:

RipTide Marine is seeking an experienced and skilled Marine Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in servicing and maintaining boats, with specialized knowledge in four-stroke outboard engines, 12-volt electrical systems, electronics, GPS, and basic accessory installations. This is an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge marine technology and provide top-tier service in a fast-paced, customer-oriented marina environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform maintenance and repairs on four-stroke outboard engines, ensuring optimal performance

- Diagnose and repair issues related to 12-volt electrical systems and electronics

- Install and troubleshoot marine electronics, including GPS systems and other navigational equipment

- Assist with basic accessory installations such as stereo systems, lights, pumps, and other boat enhancements

- Provide high-quality service to customers by addressing maintenance, repair, and accessory installation needs

- Ensure all boats and equipment are handled carefully to prevent damage during maintenance and operations

- Assist with launching, docking, and hauling boats, ensuring proper safety protocols are followed

- Maintain a clean, organized workspace, and ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained

- Follow safety protocols to ensure the safety of yourself, your coworkers, and the customers’ property

Qualifications:

- Proven experience as a Marine Technician with a focus on four-stroke outboard engines

- In-depth knowledge of 12-volt electrical systems and electronics (marine-grade)

- Hands-on experience with installing and troubleshooting GPS systems and other marine electronics

- Strong background in basic accessory installations, including stereo systems, lighting, and pumps

- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and repair electrical, engine, and electronic issues

- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams

- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions

- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner

- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications:

- Marine-specific certifications (e.g., Yamaha, Mercury, or Honda Marine certifications)

- Experience with additional marine systems (e.g., fuel systems, steering systems, etc.)
