Gorman & Company is looking for an experienced full time Maintenance Technician who is committed to providing first class maintenance services as part of a collaborative team to support several of our residential properties in the Madison area. A Maintenance Technician is one of the most important jobs in maintaining a residential apartment community in a safe, attractive, and comfortable condition for our residents.

As a Maintenance Technician, you will:

1) Satisfy service requests such as light electrical, plumbing, appliance repair, HVAC/PTAC maintenance, etc.

2) Prepare apartments for turnover, may include painting, appliance repair/replacement, plumbing, lock changes, etc.

3) Manage curb appeal by inspecting and cleaning grounds and buildings.

4) Assist with snow removal as needed.

5) Complete on-call emergency maintenance.

What do I need to qualify to be a Maintenance Technician?

1) Must have your own vehicle and a valid driver’s license.

2) Previous maintenance experience required.

3) On-Call required.

4) Mechanical aptitude and experience in servicing, troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, and installing a variety of items such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, drywall, carpentry, standard appliances and pool maintenance (if applicable).

5) Must be able to read work orders / service requests.

6) Good safety habits.

7) Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people.
