Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mold Remediation Technician to join our team. This role involves assessing, containing, and remediating mold-affected areas in residential and commercial properties. The ideal candidate will have experience in mold removal, water damage restoration, and air quality control. This position requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and a commitment to following industry safety standards.

Responsibilities
1. Mold Remediation & Containment
Inspect and assess mold growth and water damage in affected areas.
Set up proper containment to prevent cross-contamination.
Remove and dispose of contaminated materials following industry and environmental guidelines.
Clean and treat surfaces using approved antimicrobial solutions.
Operate air scrubbers, negative air machines, dehumidifiers, and HEPA vacuums.
2. Water Damage Mitigation
Identify and address sources of moisture contributing to mold growth.
Extract standing water, dry affected structures, and monitor moisture levels.
Recommend preventative measures to avoid future mold issues.
3. Equipment Operation & Maintenance
Set up, operate, and maintain remediation and drying equipment.
Ensure all tools and machines are in good working condition.
4. Documentation & Reporting
Take pre- and post-remediation photos for records and reporting.
Maintain accurate job documentation, including scope of work, drying logs, and progress reports.
Communicate findings and recommendations with supervisors, property owners, and insurance representatives.
5. Safety & Compliance
Follow all IICRC, OSHA, and EPA guidelines for mold remediation.
Wear proper PPE, including respirators, suits, and gloves, to ensure safety on-site.
Comply with all state and federal regulations regarding hazardous material handling and disposal.
6. Customer Service & Communication
Provide clear communication to property owners regarding remediation processes and expectations.
Address client concerns professionally and maintain a positive customer experience.
7. Emergency Response & On-Call Duty
Respond to emergency calls, including after-hours and weekend work as needed.
Assist in other restoration tasks, including water and fire damage clean-up, when required.
Qualifications
2+ years of experience in mold remediation, water damage restoration, or environmental services.
IICRC certifications (Applied Microbial Remediation Technician - AMRT, Water Damage Restoration Technician - WRT) preferred.
Knowledge of proper containment procedures, negative air systems, and dehumidification methods.
Ability to read moisture meters and understand drying protocols.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety guidelines.
Physical requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work in confined spaces, climb ladders, and stand for long periods.
Comfortable working in high-humidity and potentially hazardous environments.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
