Cashier/Expeditor

Shalhoob Funk Zone Patio, a family-owned and operated restaurant, is looking for an experienced cashier and expeditor to join our team!

Part-Time or Full-Time position available

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Cashier

Processing sales transactions and taking payments

Calculating the cost of products or services

Calculating and returning change for cash transactions

Maintaining adequate change denominations and requesting additional change

Answering customer questions about products or services and providing recommendations based on customer needs

Pour and serve beer according to established guidelines, ensuring proper glassware and presentation.

Inform customers about beer specials, pairings with food, or new arrivals on the menu.

Assist with delivering orders to customers and ensuring they receive correct orders.

Expeditor

Ensure that all orders are properly organized, plated, and ready for delivery by working closely with kitchen staff and servers.

Track and expedite the preparation of food orders, making sure that dishes are prepared in the correct order and within the proper timeframe.

Inspect dishes before they are sent to the dining room to ensure they meet quality standards in presentation, temperature, and completeness.

Serve as a liaison between the kitchen and the front-of-house team, communicating any special requests, modifications, or issues related to orders.

Keep the expediting area clean and organized, and ensure that the kitchen area remains orderly and stocked.

Address and resolve any issues that arise with orders, such as missing or incorrect items, and communicate these issues effectively to both kitchen and service staff.

In some instances may also assist with direct guest interaction to ensure satisfaction and handle special requests.

Skills & Requirements

2+ years of restaurant experience or similar

Knowledge of Revel, a plus

Excellent customer service and people skills

In-depth knowledge of food sanitation and safety policies

Strong attention to detail

High energy levels

Ability to work in a team

Excellent verbal communication

Flexibility to work in shifts, weekends must, evenings, and holidays

Responsible and reliable attendance

Bilingual is a plus but not required
