Science Teacher (Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or Physics)At KIPP Tulsa, we are seeking a dedicated and passionate Science Teacher to inspire and challenge scholars in Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or Physics. The ideal candidate will foster a love for scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and problem-solving while maintaining high expectations for academic excellence and personal growth.Instructional Delivery and AssessmentDevelop year-long, Oklahoma standards-based unit plans and lesson plans that align with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and meet the diverse learning needs of all scholars.Design and implement hands-on, inquiry-based learning experiences that promote scientific literacy and real-world application of concepts.Utilize assessment data, including formative and summative assessments, to modify short- and long-term instructional plans, ensuring all scholars achieve academic success.Incorporate laboratory investigations, technology, and project-based learning to enhance student engagement and understanding.Embrace and incorporate feedback in the spirit of continuous improvement and professional growth.Academic and Cultural SupportCollaborate with content and grade-level teams to create an environment of academic rigor, curiosity, and scientific exploration.Establish and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with scholars and families to support student learning and success.Supervise and actively participate in daily school functions, including morning, lunch, and afternoon duties.Engage in school-wide events such as staff meetings, open houses, back-to-school nights, parent orientations, parent-teacher conferences, and PTO events.Develop individualized learning plans for scholars needing additional support and communicate these plans to families in parent meetings and conferences.Uphold professional responsibilities, including timeliness, consistency in meeting deadlines, and adherence to school policies and expectations.If you are passionate about science education and committed to preparing scholars for success in college, career, and beyond, we encourage you to apply!
