Construction Superintendent (interior retail construction; TI)
Established Small National Commercial General Contractor seeks experienced Working Superintendent with experience on small to mid-sized tenant improvement (Retail - strip mall and shopping centers) NEW and REMODEL projects.
MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH RETAIL CONSTRUCTION. Job responsibilities are the standard requirements of managing schedules and subcontractors as well and installing the client's final fixture and decor package. Below is a more elaborate description of the work.
Depending on work load in California, out of state travel could be required in order to maintain continuous work.

Job Summary:
Looking for Experienced on-site WORKING Superintendent of construction activities for Commercial Interior (Tenant Improvement) projects. Must be familiar with general construction methods and materials as well as interacting with building inspectors. General carpentry skills are needed, although major trade work is completed by subcontractors. The Superintendent must have ability to schedule and manage subcontractor work to be completed in a timely manner while meeting the requirements of the project and building inspector/codes. Good communication skills are needed. Ability to manage project and meet deadlines a necessity. Typical project schedules are 4-6 weeks in length.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage project subcontractors
Schedule and manage project workflow on a daily basis including subcontractors, vendors, laborers and City Inspections.
Interact and respond to building inspectors.
Complete general carpentry tasks and misc. work not covered by subcontractors. (i.e. fixture installation, misc. trim carpentry)
Requirements:
Experience as Superintendent with past projects (submit past work with resume)
Ability to read and interpret documents (blue prints, city documents, etc.)
General trade knowledge
Must have own tools and transportation
Excellent communication skills
Experience in commercial interior construction
Computer literacy.
