Part-Time Graveyard Security Officer & On-Call Handyman

$22/hour for Security (2 nights/week) | $24/hour for Handyman (On-Call)

We are seeking a reliable and skilled individual to fill a dual-role position as a Part-Time Graveyard Security Officer and On-Call Handyman for a 370+ unit apartment complex. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of security experience and 4 years of handyman experience. This position requires someone who is responsible, detail-oriented, and able to handle a variety of security and maintenance tasks.

Security Officer Duties (2 Nights/Week - Graveyard Shift)

Conduct routine foot to deter crime and ensure resident safety.

Monitor and report suspicious activity, trespassing, and security concerns.

Respond to incidents, disturbances, and emergency situations professionally and efficiently.

Enforce organization rules and policies as necessary.

Check and secure doors, gates, and common areas.

Document all incidents and complete reports as required.

Communicate with property management and law enforcement when needed.

Write DARs and send them out daily.

Handyman Duties (On-Call Basis - Day Shift)

Perform general repairs and maintenance on property common areas, including:

Light plumbing (fixing leaks, unclogging drains, replacing fixtures).

Basic electrical work (changing light fixtures, outlets, troubleshooting minor issues).

Drywall patching and painting.

Carpentry repairs (fixing doors, fences, minor woodwork).

Landscaping upkeep and minor irrigation repairs.

Pressure washing common areas.

Replacing locks, door hardware, and minor property upkeep.

Respond to urgent maintenance requests from property management.

Maintain a clean and organized workspace while following safety protocols.

Qualifications:

Minimum 2 years of experience in security.

Minimum 4 years of experience in general handyman/maintenance work.

Active security guard card.

Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general maintenance.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor.

Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.

Must be available for overnight security shifts and on-call handyman work as needed.
