Description We are inviting a Billing Coordinator to join our team in a long term contract employment opportunity. This role is based in Columbia, South Carolina and serves within the insurance industry. The role is a hybrid one, with a blend of office and remote work. Responsibilities: Conducting audits of premium payments to help clients identify incorrect or missing payments Managing a block of multiple policies and accounts from a premium accounting and billing perspective Collaborating with internal departments including client services, underwriting and others to provide timely and effective resolution to any premium or billing challenges Communicating policy financial status to both internal and external partners Taking charge of past due management, billing discrepancies and error templates for assigned block Partnering with client finance on any communication necessary to resolve billing vs. remittance challenges and past due invoices Ensuring the accuracy of premium payments and application in collaboration with CSSC Managing suspense, unapplied premiums and reconciliation for assigned block Building and maintaining positive relationships and rapport with internal and external clients Providing on-going client support for billing/premium to ensure members no longer employed by the group are appropriately transitioned to direct billing. Requirements Proficiency in Customer Service, showcasing the ability to effectively address and resolve client queries and complaints. Exceptional Communication skills to coordinate with team members, customers, and other stakeholders. Experience in Training staff on billing procedures and policies. Understanding of Operations and Planning within the financial sector. Knowledge of Policy formation and enforcement, specifically in financial and billing departments. Proficiency in handling Invoice creation, management, and follow-ups. Expertise in Payment Processing, including online transactions, credit/debit card payments, and cash transactions. Experience with Billing Functions, including invoice generation, payment collection, and account reconciliation. Familiarity with Planning Processes, ensuring efficient workflow within the billing department. Knowledge of Insurance policies and procedures. Proficiency in using "About Time" software for time and billing management. Solid understanding of Finance principles and Auditing procedures. Knowledge of Benefit Functions, including employee benefit packages and compensation. Experience in performing Reconciliations and rectifying any discrepancies. Proficiency in Billing and Collection Processes, ensuring timely payment and minimizing overdue accounts. Ability to Perform Ad Hoc Financial tasks as required. Track record of effectively monitoring Progress and meeting set targets. Experience as a Liaison between different departments, ensuring smooth communication and operations. Understanding of Property management and related financial aspects. Ability to identify and resolve any Discrepancy in billing records. Familiarity with Monitoring Tool usage for overseeing the billing process. Excellent Time Management skills, ensuring tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
