Morris O Nelson & Sons Inc. is seeking a HEAVY MACHINE JOURNEYMAN DIESEL MECHANIC WITH COMPUTER AND AFTER TREATMENT EXPERIENCE to join our team.

Essential Duties:
Troubleshoot and perform repair, inspection, and maintenance of heavy trucks and trailers, and any equipment assigned.
Perform diagnostics on engines and equipment.
Disassembles engines, and examines parts for defects and excessive wear.
Reconditions and replaces parts, such as pistons, bearings, gears, valves, and bushings, using hand tools, and precision measuring instruments.
May weld and cut parts, using arc-welding and flame cutting equipment.
Operate customary hand or power tools used for mechanical repairs.
Keep accurate service records
Account for parts and supplies inventory, if applicable.
Qualifications:
Diesel engine or similar mechanical experience – prefer 3+ years’ experience.
Understanding of modern diesel exhaust and after treatment systems.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Vocational or Technical certification preferred.
Working knowledge in the use of hand tools required
Regularly lift and /or move up to 25lbs, frequently lift and/or move up to 50lbs, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs. with assistance.
Motivated and able to work independently without requiring regular management oversight
Must possess a valid Oregon driver’s license with a clean DMV record.
Preemployment drug test required on all potential employees.
Applicant must be legally able to work in the USA.
