This position will combine strong leadership, personal communication, and technical skills to commission Veolia’s challenging and diverse portfolio including Hyperscale, Enterprise, and Collocation Data Centers, Central Utility Plants (CUP), and Power Generation (combined heat & power; CHP) facilitiesPRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES: Technical AttributesWork with senior management and staff to improve and optimize core services, standards and, procedures as applied to the commissioning process, resource utilization, and management.Manage mechanical/electrical systems commissioning, energy and consulting of complex projects for local, national, and international clients.Lead multi-disciplined teams to effectively manage projects across multiple locations.Serve as single point overall technical contact coordinating directly with customers’ technical team and their contractors.Prepare and review method of procedures, commissioning plans, technical reports, specifications, cost estimates, and studies.Diagnose and solve design and operational issues as a result of a thorough commissioning process.Manage commissioning projects and project resources to a predetermined scope, fee and schedule.Perform construction observations, review contract documents, develop functional test plans and execute tests for a wide variety of mechanical, and controls systems. Knowledge of building codes and construction industry standards, such as ASHRAE and LEED is a plus.Knowledge, application and implementation of electrical/mechanical test instrumentation is desirable.Familiarity with NETA Electrical Acceptance Testing guidelines is a plus.Working knowledge of Life Safety systems is a plus.Project Management AttributesManage projects, project teams, clients, project scopes, project budgets and project schedules. Work with customer and project team to define and manage project deliverables to support the project’s needs.Ensure complete communication and understanding of client’s requirements, expectations, and best practices.Ensure on-time and highest quality delivery of all hardware, information, and services in full compliance with project technical requirements.Provide client with regular status reports summarizing technical activities, schedule performance, risks, budget status, and forecasts.Ensure clear definition and swift closeout of project punch-list items.Ensure all site quality control documentation and test reports are properly archived and communicated to responsible customer service personnel.Review project budgets to insure they adequately cover design and scope of supply requirements.Development AttributesIdentify new clients, new opportunities, maintain existing client relationships, and general marketing new related opportunities.Review design documents and craft project proposals and ROM pricing as per client request.Participate in pre-award and contract negotiation presentations and meetings.Identify/support development of new business relationships and opportunities. Manage relationships with key clients and identify upsell opportunities.Engage senior management in development of long range planning.Support management efforts to facilitate employee development and training.AdministrationCoordinate internal resource scheduling.Review expense reports & time sheets (Direct Reports).Conduct annual performance reviews (Direct Reports).Work with senior management on implementation of performance management and improvement systems.SafetyComply with and uphold safety in the workplace guidelines and practices.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENTPermanent and full-time position, from Monday to Friday, day schedules.The ideal candidate will work remotely from North America with required travel.The role may require extensive local, national, and occasional international travel and may require employees to be away from home on assignments between 50% and 80% annually. Typically, Mondays and Fridays are designated travel days with Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays as on site work days. Veolia allows employees to travel back on Fridays so they can spend their weekends at home, unless specifically dictated by work requirements. Roles may occasionally require work to be conducted outside of normal business hours to accommodate maintenance windows or weekends typical of mission critical project schedules. Working environment requires the employee to be in high energy areas such as central plants, switchgear rooms and power transmission areas typical of Mission Critical environments such as Power Generation Plants and Data Centers.
