Automotive Transmission Technician | Auto Shop, Los Angeles County, Ca

We are in search of a skilled Automotive Transmission Technician who specializes in ZF transaxle assembly and repair. We require candidates to have a minimum of three years’ experience, along with expertise in diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and rebuilding transaxles with precision and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

Rebuild and Assemble ZF Transaxles: Conduct assembly and rebuilding of ZF transaxles in line with manufacturer’s guidelines.

Diagnose Issues: Identify transaxle failures and decide on the required repair actions.

Coordinate with Parts: Liaise with the parts department to ensure availability of necessary components.

Transaxle Maintenance: Remove, dismantle, check, and fix transaxle units as required.

Documentation: Log all repair activities meticulously in repair orders.

Mentorship: Oversee and mentor apprentice technicians when assigned.

Workplace Maintenance: Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.

Equipment Reporting: Inform supervisors of any equipment malfunctions or issues.

Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety standards and promptly report any safety hazards to management.

Safe Tool Usage: Handle all tools and machinery with safety and responsibility.

Additional Duties: Undertake any additional tasks as directed by management.

Qualifications:

Experience: At least three years of practical experience with transaxles, with a preference for ZF.

Comprehension Skills: Capable of understanding and following simple instructions, correspondence, and technical literature.

Communication: Skilled at writing basic reports and engaging in clear, effective communication with individuals or small groups.

Mathematical Abilities: Competent in basic arithmetic including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and percentages.

Problem Solving: Ability to follow straightforward instructions and use practical problem-solving skills.

Technical Proficiency: Experienced in utilizing diagnostic tools and interpret service manuals.

Quality Focus: Demonstrated attention to detail ensuring high-quality work.
