Payroll
The Payroll Clerk is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of employee payroll, including verifying time records, addressing discrepancies, maintaining payroll records, and handling various payroll-related inquiries.
Review time records for weekly and bi-weekly payroll processing and contact and obtain supervisor approval for revisions of discrepancies such as missed time, missed punches, etc.
Open and close payroll periods in accordance with company schedules.
Print and distribute daily labor logs to supervisors for review and approval.
Process approved labor logs, ensuring accurate labor transfers.
Verify employee time records, including timesheets, vacation, and sick leave, ensuring compliance with company policies and labor laws.
Maintain and update employee payroll records, including personal information, tax withholding details, and benefit deductions.
Process payroll with careful attention to new hires, terminations, promotions, and changes in pay rates.
Collaborate with HR and Accounting departments to resolve payroll discrepancies or issues.
Process garnishment requests promptly and notify affected employees.
Address employee inquiries regarding payroll, taxes, and deductions in a timely manner.
Participate in updates and improvements to the payroll system, as necessary.
Verify attendance, hours worked, and pay adjustments, PSL and PTO balances.
Perform other payroll-related duties and administrative tasks as required.
Distribute paychecks to employees.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in completing tasks.
Must be meticulous, with a commitment to error-free work in payroll processing.
Effective communication skills in both English and Spanish.
Understanding of payroll, federal and state labor laws.

Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent. Some college preferred.
2-3 years of payroll experience in agriculture or manufacturing in an
HRIS and time and attendance system (ADP).
