Commercial Truck and Trailer Mechanic

Slack Chemical Company is seeking a candidate to fill a full time mechanics position at its Saratoga Springs NY facility.

Job Description:

Repairs and maintains a diversified fleet of trucks and trailers and other equipment according to company preventive maintenance guidelines

Performs scheduled maintenance including changing oil, filters, tires, brakes, checking lights, greasing, repairing light components, and performing operations check

Ensure all equipment is repaired to Federal Commercial Motor Carrier DOT standards

Performs work as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy

Diagnoses cause of any malfunction and performs repairs

Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required

Documents all work performed on the repair order

Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner

Requirements:

2 years experience / past work references

Valid drivers license

Be able to lift up to 70 lbs., frequently stand, stoop, kneel, crawl

High school diploma or equivalent (GED)

Pass background and drug test

Must be authorized to work in the United States

Computer skills, including, but not limited to: Microsoft office and Internet Browser

Valid CDL is a plus

NYS heavy duty inspectors license is a plus (not mandatory, must be willing to apply)

Must have minimum tools to perform the maintenance and repair work

Must be motivated, proactive,focused, and well organized

Maintain a high level of professionalism
