Lead Encounter Designer
We are looking for an experienced, passionate and talented Lead Encounter Designer to join our Boston based Orion development team. This person will take ownership of working directly with the design director and cross-discipline design leads to help formulate solutions for and help create memorable gameplay encounters that will thrill and excite our players.   Daily responsibilitiesWork with Quest, Open World, Level Design, Environment and Gameplay teams, to design memorable combat encounters based on predefined narrative, environmental and gameplay themes.Adjust predefined quests and locations, by utilising NPC setup, interactive objects, loot and environment, to create a challenging playthrough, with multiple solutionsWorking with Level Designers and Environmental Artists, ensure level geometry serves the needs of the combat encounter.Hire and build an encounter team throughout the course of development.Dedicate yourself to understanding all player verbs, allowing yourself to craft divergent experiences that cater to all available playstyles.Work in close collaboration with the systems design team to create the most realistic and reactive crowd system in any game to date.
