Diesel Mechanic

Job description

 Duties/Responsibilities:

A Diesel Service Technician is responsible for servicing heavy diesel equipment. This can include:

cleaning, maintenance, visual inspection, and removal of parts and attachments. Installation with the

help of proper manuals, report writing, disassembly, assembly, parts reuse evaluation, and

reconditioning.

 Operates diagnostic equipment to determine repairs that need to be made.

 Performs repairs and maintenance for company vehicles and equipment.

 Maintains database of maintenance and repair records for company vehicles and equipment.

 Repairs damages to units.

 Repairs electric shorts in units.

 Performs preventive maintenance to units (lights, levels, antifreeze, suspension,

 Brake adjustments, grease all feedings, and fifth wheel).

 Replace kingpins.

 Replace docks.

 Replace airbags.

 Replace brake pads and drums.

 Provides road service when required.

Required Skills/Abilities:

 Knowledge of diesel engine repair.

 Ability to visually diagnose mechanical issues.

Education and Experience:

 Minimum 2 year(s) of related experience required.

 Detail-oriented quality and precision-focused

 Stable traditional, stable, strong processes

 Team-oriented cooperative and collaborative

 Self-Directed

 Courses, certificate, or diploma from vocational or technical school is preferred

 Required to pass a physical

 Compliance with DOT and company regulations required

 Your own tools are required

Physical Requirements/ Working Conditions:

 Exposure to heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job.

 Exposure to considerable amounts of dust, diesel fumes and noise.

 Exposure to chemicals, oils, greases or other irritants

 Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance

 Ability to move and position heavy objects

 Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel and squat to repair vehicles

 Ability to work outside in various weather conditions

 Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour

Schedule:

 8 hour shift

 Monday to Friday

 Weekend availability

Trailer Mechanic

Job description

As a trailer mechanic, you diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues in large vehicles, such as

semi-trucks and tractor-trailers. Your primary responsibility is the maintenance and repair of trailers.

Your job duties are to identify problems, replace parts, and handle repairs to electrical systems,

hydraulics, and brake systems. You report to a manager who ensures that repairs are completed to

company standards.

Responsibilities of Trailer Mechanic:

 Applicants must be able to perform 17 point inspection on semi trailers/complete paperwork

with minimal supervision.

 DOT Inspections and All Repairs Needed for Compliance (Brake System Repairs, Wiring/Lighting

Repairs, etc.)

 Structural Repairs Requiring Cutting/Welding

 Keeping Detailed Record of Each Job Performed (Time, Parts, etc.)

Requirements:

 Experience working on commercial trailers, a valid driver's license, good communication and

organizational skills

 Potential team members must be focused on delivering consistent, high quality work at all

times.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour

Schedule:

 8 hour shift

 Day shift

 Monday to Friday

 Weekends as needed

 Alamo, TX 78516: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

 Diesel engine repair: 1 year (Preferred)

 Mechanical knowledge: 2 years (Preferred)
