As a Project Engineer I, you'll implement an integrated plan for product development including coordinating activities throughout the product lifecycle from design concept phase to release. You will monitor the product/program/project from initiation through delivery, interfacing with external customers or field-based employees on technical matters, as needed. You'll also review, manage, proactively challenge, and control status of project programs and budgets, manage schedules and prepare status reports, and guide and lead teams in achieving the goals of the program including issue identification, resolution and contingency planning.The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains – air, land, sea, space and cyber.Responsibilities:

Oversee technical execution of a project (or aspects of a project) in collaboration with the Program Manager, technical leads, and the Chief Engineer.

Serve as focal point for Configuration Management of project technical data.

Ensure adherence to company/industry standards and processes for safety, design, quality & workmanship (including IPC, AS9100, MIL- and SAE-).

Oversee integration activities with key Subcontractors and Suppliers, including development of Specifications and Statements of Work; provide technical oversight of supplier deliverables, EVM performance, qualification & acceptance testing activities.

Interface with customers, peer contractors and field service staff to support operations.

Support proposal development, forecasting and project estimating activities.

Qualifications You Must Have:

Bachelor's of Science degree in a related field of study and typically, 8+ years of progressive technical experience

Knowledge of engineering principles and practice

Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development team

Basic understanding of requirements management, system design, integration

The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required

Qualifications We Prefer:

Typically 2-4 years of relevant leadership and/or project management experience

Experience leading a multi-disciplinary design and development team and communicating with program management and customers

Familiarity with preparation and development of project estimates, technical proposals, and program cost and schedule management

Past history of leading baseline definition and maturation in a complex development setting, including the use of highly integrated trade studies and analysis of alternative

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics, parts lists, specifications, instructions and test procedure

Professional Certification in Program Management International (PMI) and/or Program Management Professional (PMP

Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
