About ArtsRiot: ArtsRiot is a vibrant music venue, restaurant and soon to be distillery located

in the South End of Burlington, known for hosting live music and private events as well as

serving an in house la carte menu as well as offering in house catering. Our menu focuses

primarily on New York style pizza by the slice and whole pie, as well as a variety of NYC

inspired small plates, and we try to source as much as we can from local purveyors/producers.

Everything that comes out of the kitchen of ArtsRiot is made from scratch, and highlights a wide

variety of cuisines and techniques, ranging from breadmaking, fermentation, whole animal

butchery, preservation, etc., and we pride ourselves as being a “teaching” kitchen where the

accumulation of knowledge is a top priority for our entire team.

Chef Matthew has been in food service for 25 years in both the front and back of the house,

beginning his cooking career at The Farmhouse and Hen of the Wood before relocating back to

Boston to work at such acclaimed restaurants as Coppa, Sarma, Fat Hen and Pammy’s. Most

recently, Chef spent three years at Cloud 9 Caterers as their Director of Operations learning the

finer points of catering, as well as time at Philo Ridge Farm immersing himself in true

farm-to-table cuisine.

Position Overview: Chef Matthew is seeking dedicated and passionate kitchen help to work

closely with himself and the rest of our team to maintain and develop our menu. ArtsRiot is a

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the development & preparation of dishes for our a la carte and catering menu

Work towards maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, as well as being thoughtful

and conscientious with actions & interactions throughout the day

Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines

Provide support for our FOH team during service/events

Most importantly, approach each day with enthusiasm, positivity, empathy and curiosity

Qualifications:

Previous kitchen experience is helpful, but a positive attitude and strong willingness to

learn & adapt is essential

Excellent teamwork and communication skills

Genuine passion for food, beverage and hospitality

Ability to work nights and weekends

Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks,

including lifting heavy items if necessary.
