Tour Representative

Alaska Tales Whale Watching is currently seeking outgoing, dependable, hard working individuals to join the team for the summer season in Juneau!

Summary:

As a Dock Representative you will be responsible for meeting quests down on the dock as they come of their ships, and directing them where they need to be in order to catch their tour. You will be the first person many of our customers will see once they arrive in Juneau. The tour rep will help assist in answering customer questions, problem solve logistical concerns, and work closely with our sales team to ensure customer satisfaction.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Assist customers in navigating the downtown dock area

- Assist customers in navigating the MGVC area

- Answering phone call customer inquiries

- Assist in customer bookings

- Coordinating transportation

- Ensuring the tours stay on time and flow well

- Maintain a high standard of quality for our tours

- Maintain positive relationships with staff

- Adhere to company standards

Skills:

- Excellent customer service

- Detail oriented and can maintain a fast paced work environment

- Must be team oriented and enjoy working with others

- Capable of working long hours/flexible hours

- Capable of lifting 50 pounds

REQUIREMENTS:

- Experience with customer service types of jobs (Preferred)

- Whale watching or other tourist industry experience is a plus

- Outgoing, positive attitude

- Cell phone with text/voice mail

- Reliable transportation
