Position Purpose: The Manager On Duty is a part-time role responsible for the execution of all Guest Services functions, during public and rental uses of the venue including staff and guest following established protocols. The Manager On Duty provides direct supervision of all Front of House staff during performances and events, and evaluates conflicts and issues that arise during an event to provide the proper solution.

Reports to: Director of Guest Services

Key Performance Areas:

Lead, inspire, evaluate, coach, and mentor Guest Services Staff, to result in motivation, recognition, and retention of high performing employees that meet the Ordway’s mission and values.

Ensures that all logistics and details of the event and performance operate smoothly and

without error. Knowing all relevant information for both halls and lobby areas - i.e. seating charts and locations of all restrooms, fire extinguishers, and defibrillators. Also leading communications between front of house and back of house.

Resolve guest complaints and issues in a timely and effective manner, during the

performance or event, to minimize distractions for other Ordway guests.

Implement proper safety and security procedures/policies in a calm and productive manner. Leading this process and filing reports, as needed.

Familiarity with Food Safety Management, TIPS or SALES qualified.

Trained in or willing to be trained in de-escalation techniques.

The ability to work evenings and weekends as a normal work schedule is required.

The ability to bend, lift, stay mobile for extended two+ hours, and move quickly up and downstairs in low light situations are all required.

Other Qualifications:

Must be at least 21.

Must have three+ years’ customer service experience with some experience supervising others.

Must be CPR certified or willing to learn.

Experience with safety protocols is preferred.

This role will work eight - 10 times per month.

The ability to work evenings and weekends is required.

The ability to bend, lift, stay mobile for extended two+ hours, and move quickly up and down stairs in low light situations are all required.

Comfortable with electronics and able to troubleshoot scanners and square/iPads.

Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and comfortability learning new software such as Celayix, Better Impact, ActivityCube, and EMS.

Comfortable with and understand radio protocols.

Experience with cash handling and deposits.
