Aide Support for Petite, Bright Young Woman with Cerebral Palsy
1:1 Aides/Personal Assistants for bright physically disabled young adult
Join small team of dynamic and dedicated young women providing 1:1 care, support and aide with all personal, social, vocational, recreational, and daily living activities for physically challenged young woman with Cerebral Palsy who just moved to Torrance apartment.
Young woman is petite, bright (UC Berkeley grad), good humored, thoughtful, and determined to live her most independent life. But to do this she needs the support of some very special aides like you. She is quite capable, but also quite physically compromised and needs a lot of assistance.no lifting, but needs help with walking, transfers, transportation(our family vehicle) and all ADLs. Experience with physical disabilities helpful but not requiredwill train. Support is provided in the home as well as community settings.
Open shifts: #1 Mon-Fri. 8am to 4pm.(40 hrs) #2 Mon-Fri 4pm to 10pm plus Friday overnight 10pm to 9am Saturday morning. (41 hrs)( Overnight hours are paid asleep hours, but must be very light sleeper to be able to respond to night needs). #3 Saturdays 5pm to 9am Sunday morning (16 hours)

Required: Valid CA driver's license with good driving record. Strong communication, writing and apple computer skills. Physically fit. College degree preferred not required. Light sleeper for overnight shifts. Excellent work references. Ability to travel for full time positions. A big heart and a nurturing nature required.
