Substitute Site Lead
Location:
On-call position serving eight senior dining centers as needed, with work locations varying based on operational needs.

$16.80 - $20.45 per hour

Senior Life Resources is a nonprofit organization committed to improving the quality of life for individuals through compassionate in-home care and services. Our key programs, Home Care Services and Mid-Columbia Meals on Wheels, provide vital support to seniors, helping them maintain independence and dignity in their homes.
We are currently seeking a Substitute Site Lead to oversee meal service operations at senior dining centers when the regular Site Lead is unavailable. This role ensures that meal preparation, service, and delivery to homebound clients meet established nutrition, health, and sanitation standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee meal preparation, including setup, presentation, serving, and cleanup.
Ensure timely assembly and preparation of food, dishes, utensils, and supplies.
Supervise and assist volunteers in meal site operations and home-delivered meal services.
Operate and maintain kitchen equipment, ensuring compliance with sanitation standards.
Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of the kitchen, equipment, and utensils.
Foster a welcoming and supportive environment for program participants.
Handle administrative tasks, including follow-ups, phone calls, and documentation.
Attend required meetings and training as assigned.
Maintain confidentiality of participant, staff, and business-related information.
Qualifications:
Education & Licensing:
Must be at least 18 years old with a High School Diploma or equivalent.
Requires a valid Washington State driver’s license with insured transportation.
Must possess a Washington State Food Handler’s Card (or obtain it within 14 days of hire).
Experience & Skills:
Experience in food service (including food preparation, equipment operation, and sanitation standards) preferred.
Supervisory experience preferred.
Proficient in basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, email, and general office software).
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to follow directions.
Effective verbal and written communication skills. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrates sound judgment and professionalism, including in emergencies.

Working Conditions:
Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting (up to 25 lbs).
Daytime hours, Monday through Friday, with occasional evenings or weekends as scheduled.
Work is performed at various senior dining sites across Benton & Franklin Counties.
Contingency of Employment:
Acceptable criminal history background check.
Valid Washington State Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
Compliance with Chapter 246-215 WAC, Subpart B, “Employee Health” requirements.
