SAP Technical Architect Principal
DESCRIPTIONWe are looking for a talented SAP Technical Architect Principal to join our team specializing in Systems/Information Technology for Cummins, Inc. in Indianapolis, IN.In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Define System Components : Break down the system into components, allocate functions, and establish interfaces between systems and components.
Develop Reusable Standards : Create standards, design patterns, and configurations that can be reused for other solutions.
Collaborate with Teams : Work with project and product teams to understand their needs and provide appropriate solutions.
Conduct Cost/Benefit Analysis : Perform complex analyses to evaluate future state capabilities.
Establish Governing Principles : Lead the creation of principles to manage change and guide solution decisions.
Audit Solution Design : Ensure solution designs comply with architectural patterns and standards.
Monitor Performance : Oversee architecture solution performance and prevent issues when introducing new capabilities.
Develop Future State Roadmaps : Collaborate with stakeholders to apply strategy to future state architecture and create roadmaps to achieve it.
RESPONSIBILITIESTo be successful in this role you will need the following:
Architecture System Design – Understand and apply the architecture development framework and methodology. Create conceptual, logical, and physical models that accurately represent the system’s architecture.
Solution Design - Ensure your designs adhere to industry standards and best practices.Design solutions with built-in instrumentation for monitoring and measurement.Utilize version control, build, and test automation to streamline the development process.
Solution Functional Fit Analysis - Break down systems into their component parts to understand how they interact and meet requirements.Leverage tools and work aides to analyze the functional fit of each component.Make sure all components work together seamlessly to meet business, technical, security, governance, and compliance requirements.
Project Issue and Risk Management - Create plans to minimize, monitor, and control risks. Use recommended tools to identify, assess, and prioritize risks and issues. Focus on maximizing positive outcomes by effectively managing issues and risks.
QUALIFICATIONSEducation/Experience
College, university, or equivalent degree in relevant technical discipline, or relevant equivalent experience required.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Significant experience in a relevant discipline area is required with a demonstrated track record of architecture and design for cloud-based platforms. Knowledge of the latest trends in emerging technologies is highly preferred and includes: -Analyzing complex business systems, industry requirements, and governance and creating solution designs from them - Proven Architecture and design experience for cloud-based platforms
Significant experiences in the following are preferred: - Experience with architecting and integrating enterprise systems and data - Experience in defining and weighing the trade-offs of different solution options - Experience with IoT technology - Experience in Agile software development and DevSecOps
Additional Responsibilities:Required Qualifications
10 - 12 years of SAP technical experience, including at least 5 years as a Technical Architect.
Extensive experience in SAP S/4HANA implementations, migrations, and upgrades.
Hands-on expertise with SAP ABAP, ABAP on HANA, RAP Programming, SAP BTP with Integration suite, SAP Fiori, UI5,
Knowledge of third-party integrations with applications such as High Radius, Basware, Kinaxis, Blue Yonder, Salesforce. Preference would be given to candidates with MuleSoft experience.
Proficiency in SAP cloud technologies such as AWS or preferably Azure.
Strong understanding of SAP landscape transformation, data management, and system architecture.
Advanced knowledge of SAP security including GRC, Solution Manager(SolMan), authorization concepts, and performance tuning.
SAP certification in S/4HANA, ABAP on HANA, SAP BTP, or SAP Cloud Architect roles is required.
Key Responsibilities
Design and architect robust, scalable, and secure SAP technical solutions aligned with business requirements.
Define technical roadmaps for SAP implementations, upgrades, migrations, and integration adhering to CCOE standards aligned to industry best practices.
Provide expert guidance on SAP landscape optimization and performance tuning. Working knowledge of Basis will be a key differentiator.
Lead the end-to-end delivery of SAP technical projects(RICEFWs), ensuring timely completion with high quality and adherence to Cummins standards.
Drive technical closure of complex issues across SAP modules, middleware, and third-party systems with no need for guidance.
Collaborate with functional architects, developers, and business stakeholders to align technical solutions with functional needs.
Deep hands-on experience in SAP Basis, S/4HANA, HANA database, and cloud platforms (SAP BTP, AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Lead implementation and configuration of SAP modules, systems integration, and data migrations.
Provide in-depth expertise in SAP security, performance tuning, disaster recovery, and high availability.
Serve as the technical point of contact for SAP projects, debugging to establish RCA, resolving escalations and mentoring junior team members.
Drive innovation by leveraging emerging SAP technologies and best practices.
Lead discussions with stakeholders to define architecture blueprints and provide technical recommendations.
Knowledge of SAP RPA bots will be a game changer.
Location:
This position is remote and can be based in Indianapolis or Atlanta, with preference to candidates in Eastern or Central time zones. Relocation is not offered.
