WANTED: Starting Handyman/Handywoman
Job Title: Handyman/Handywoman
Job Type: Start Part-Time (Potential for Permanent Employment)
Pay: $25/hr and up DOE
Start as a 1099 independent contractor and progress to a W-2 employee
Looking for a reliable and moderately skilled + personable handyman/handywoman. I have great clients and a diverse workload. Looking for someone who has a knack for learning skills on the fly and pulling off decent results. This position will begin with a variety of work on a large remodel project, and if it goes well there is potential for permanent employment. The ideal candidate will have some experience in general home repairs, maintenance, and construction work. Being a curious person with a sense of humor goes a long way in a job where you're doing something different every 2hrs. The work pace is varied as well. At times it is hurry up and wait and others it's easier with some nice breaks. Flexible with days off and vacations.
Responsibilities:
Assist with various trades, including carpentry, painting, cleaning, and some landscaping and general repairs. Jack of a few trades, master of one. Big plus if you're good with baseboards.
Install a variety of hardware, fixtures and appliances
Perform minor plumbing and electrical work (e.g., fixing leaks, replacing outlets)
Troubleshoot and repair issues in homes and small commercial properties
Work in crawlspaces, attics, and other confined spaces as needed
Be a polite and friendly person especially with clients
Follow safety protocols and proper tool usage
Qualifications:
experience in handyman, construction, or maintenance work preferred. (I started in commercial construction, then facility management)
Basic knowledge of tools, materials, and repair techniques
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on ladders/heights when necessary
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Good customer service and communication skills
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Tools & Equipment:
Having your own tools for all the trades is not required, but you should have a fair amount from current or past experience
Company will provide additional tools as needed
Preferred but Not Required:
Any relevant certifications or training
