Every Saturday, the newspaper delivers news, market and commodity reports, and agribusiness information to more than 60,000 paid subscribers in Pennsylvania and fifteen other states.Free public parking available in Ephrata.Essential Job Functions:Market Analysis: Monitor and evaluate both domestic and global markets for crops (grains, fruits, vegetables), dairy, and livestock. Track key factors like supply, demand, pricing, and trade dynamics, and identify emerging trends.Weather Impact Assessment: Analyze weather patterns and climate trends to assess their impact on crop yields, livestock production, and overall market conditions. Provide regular updates on critical weather events such as droughts, floods, and storms.Data Collection & Reporting: Collect and analyze data from government reports, market research, weather forecasts, and trade publications. Produce regular reports and presentations summarizing market conditions and forecasting future trends. Improve market reporting formats and analysis on the Lancaster Farming website.Price Forecasting & Modeling: Develop and maintain forecasting models to predict commodity prices based on market conditions, weather, and seasonal trends. Provide stakeholders with insights on predicted market shifts and price movements.Insights & Recommendations: Deliver actionable insights to farmers, traders, clients, and internal teams. Offer market strategies, pricing forecasts, and risk management advice to enhance decision-making in agricultural production and trade.Stakeholder Communication: Share findings through editorial content, e-newsletters, podcasts, and videos with internal teams, clients, and industry stakeholders. Serve as the main contact for market-related inquiries.Industry Trends & Research: Stay up-to-date with agricultural policies, technological advancements, environmental impacts, and geopolitical factors affecting agriculture.
