GIS Technician - ( 250000UJ )DescriptionStantec Government Services (GS) is seeking an Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Program Geospatial Analyst (GIS Technician) with experience in groups 1 and 2 UAS program and geospatial data support, encroachment analysis and other mission-related functions at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center (MCAGCC) located in Twentynine Palms, CA.Stantec GS is a professional infrastructure and environmental services company, with expertise in the planning and implementation of encroachment control and mitigation efforts at military installations and associated operational equities throughout the United States.We seek:

Your Key ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will have experience with geospatial data management in file based and enterprise environments and will assist in the scheduling, data collection and operations associated with the onsite sUAS program. The position will also require mapping and analysis of encroachment threats in coordination with government staff and in support of project briefings and reports. This position will be full-time on-site at MCAGCC Twentynine Palms, CA.QualificationsYour Capabilities and Credentials

Excellent organizational skills, multi-tasking capabilities, and attention to detail

Strong technical writing, analytical, and oral communication skills

Experience with GIS data types, metadata, processing and analysis

Understanding of raster data collection methods (sUAS, aerial and satellite) and their appropriate utilization

Ability to handle multiple tasks and shifting priorities

Ability to manage time effectively and meet firm deadlines

Working knowledge of military operations, terminology and codes of conduct

Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision

Ability and commitment to work collaboratively with all groups, including staff, management, clients, and other stakeholders

Must have or be able to obtain any required federal government clearances, including a Common Access Card (CAC)

Must pass a pre-employment drug screen

Must possess valid driver’s license with good driving record

Desired Additional Capabilities

Knowledge of Marine Corps geospatial data standards

Knowledge of Marine Corps range and training area and special use airspace procedures and scheduling

Experience in establishing controls for collection and processing of spatial data to meet accuracy and resolution specifications

Experience with the ESRI suite of geospatial platforms

Experience with basic videography and video editing

Experience in photogrammetric processing and platforms

FAA Part 107 licensed

Proficiency in Microsoft office and Adobe Acrobat

Experience and ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in geography, database design/management, information technology, or related field

Minimum 2 years of experience

$53,500 - $94,700 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in CA (SF Area includes SF, SJS & WLC)

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
