Assists in patient treatments/procedures such as applying casts, obtaining molds for custom braces, applying/fitting splints/braces for upper and lower extremity. Performs removal of casts, staples, and/or stitches as per order of provider. Performs wound care as directed by the provider. Performs radiological studies as ordered by provider. Maintains a clean clinical environment and assists with cleaning and proper preparation of instruments, equipment using aseptic technique. Practices aseptic technique, isolation/infection control procedures. Responsible for cleaning and sterilization of instruments using the Autoclave. Prepares all equipment and supplies for treatments/procedures. Assists the provider with treatment/procedure and prepares the patient for same. Stocks rooms, carts, cabinets, and reports all equipment and supplies for timely replacement. Maintains and monitors inventory at assigned site. Adheres to internal controls and reporting structures. Documents all patient information in Athena. May arrange studies or testing as ordered by provider. Assists with all patients encounters and follows up as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.Supervision ReceivedGeneral supervision from assigned supervisor.Supervision GivenDirect supervision of assigned staff.Required EducationHigh School diploma or equivalent.Preferred EducationNone.Licenses/CertificationsNon-Certified Radiologic Technician ( NCT ) or Licensed Medical Radiologic Technician ( LMRT ) or Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist ( CMRT ). CPR certified.Preferred: Certified Orthopedic TechnicianRequired ExperienceOne (1) year of related experience, working with orthopedic providers applying and removing casts, fitting braces, fitting splints and procedures related to musculoskeletal function.Preferred ExperienceNone.EquipmentUse of Cast saw, instruments, cast separator, vacuum, all clinical equipment and instruments, office equipment, autoclave, and others as added. Radiology equipment.Working ConditionsNeeds to be able to successfully perform all required duties. Office/Clinical Environment; some travel and weekend work may be required. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
