Diesel Fleet Mechanic

Compensation: $25-$33 per hour

About the Role:

We're seeking an experienced Diesel Fleet Mechanic to join our team at Hazmat Environmental Group. In this position, you'll be responsible for diagnosing and servicing our fleet of trucks and trailers, ensuring they operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform comprehensive preventative maintenance inspections on all assigned equipment

Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical systems according to established service criteria

Maintain commercial motor vehicles in accordance with FMCSA requirements, manufacturer recommendations, and company policies

Service air systems, brakes, wiring, tires, and A/C for tractors and trailers

Ensure all maintenance and repairs are completed in a safe, timely, and cost-efficient manner

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent

Minimum 2 years of Diesel Mechanic experience working with Class 7 and Class 8 vehicles

Demonstrated ability to follow schedules, instructions, wiring diagrams, maintenance guidelines, and other technical procedures

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen

Preferred Skills (Not Required):

CDL license

Heavy inspection license

Welding experience
