About the Positions:

ICL is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting New Yorkers in need for over 35 years. We are currently seeking a skilled Millwright, Carpenter, or basic mechanic to install and maintain loading dock equipment in an industrial setting. Ideal candidates are hardworking, reliable, and eager to learn.

1. General Laborer

Responsibilities:

Install loading dock equipment, including dock leveling devices and commercial overhead doors.

Dismantle and install machinery, doors, and levelers using cutting tools or a cutting torch.

Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts and Lulls to transport materials.

Align machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, levels, and plumb bobs.

Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.

Perform routine maintenance on machinery.

2. Mover

Responsibilities:

Perform pest control duties by maintaining vigilance and reporting infestations.

Handle moving tasks such as storing, packing, loading, repositioning furniture, and removing large objects.

Maintain restrooms by restocking supplies, emptying trash, and sanitizing fixtures, mirrors, and toilets.

Operate industrial cleaning equipment, including floor buffers and industrial washers.

Perform general cleaning tasks such as dusting, mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, and trash removal.
