Nighttime Caregiver/Assistant Wanted
California, Inland empire 00000 Inland empire USA

Hi,

My name is Jay. I live in Corona. I am a fun and nice boss to my employees. I am disabled and use a wheelchair due to a muscular disability. I am looking for a new nighttime Caregiver, 100 hours per month, $18.50 per hour. Please bear with me, since it's a lot of info. This person will need to work nights, five nights a week. It is CRUCIAL that the applicant must be ok with late nights, as most of the time you will be starting around 10:30 and end around 4:30AM. There will be a lot of time for you to do what you want (watch tv, do homework, sleep, go home, etc), throughout your shift, as I am pretty independent and don’t need too much help.

Most people that have worked here stayed for at least a year, usually multiple. I’ve only had to hire three people since 2018. My current employee is starting an 8AM-5PM school schedule, so they're leaving. They've been here since early September. As long as you show up, be respectful, and help with the few things I need, it’ll be one of the easiest jobs you’ve ever had, that provides stable income. The duties will be as follows below:

Manual transferring from wheelchair to another wheelchair (about 150 pounds – a recent employee was a 5’2” woman who worked for me for over a year. It isn’t as much about strength, as it is technique)

Assist with showering

Assist with making sure food is taken care of and cooking if asked (rare)

Cleaning if needed

Assisting with medical equipment if needed

Transportation (Rare)

Potential very rare travel (Discussed well in advance, opportunity to earn more hours)

Other duties as discussed

If you’re not already a state IHSS employee, I’ll need to get you into the state system, which can take about six weeks. You can start and get back paid from the day you begin, but you won’t get your paychecks until you are officially a state employee.

This is more of a long-term position, not a quick pay job. Please keep that in mind while you apply. Each applicant MUST be able to pass a federal background check and have a CLEAN driving record (mandatory to become a state employee). Please be able to pass a drug test, as there will be one to get hired, and may be unannounced ones after. Also no smokers please, for medical reasons.

Applicant MUST have a minimum three references along with a resume at the time of the interview. I will also need to see your license and COVID vaccination proof (card or phone app with your name).

Sorry for all the info! I know it’s a lot. If interested please TEXT me, as I am very busy throughout the day and don’t have time to answer phone calls as much as I would like to. With your text please send a few sentences with your name, age, and the reason why you believe you are the best candidate for the job, and I will call you back when I am free. Thanks and I can’t wait to meet everyone and start working together! Good luck!
