Meyer Contracting Inc., is seeking qualified applicants for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic opening to join our team. Team Meyer is a Highway/Heavy contractor based out of Maple Grove, MN who performs Earthwork, Underground Utilities, Demolition, Concrete Structures and Foundations operations primarily in the greater Midwest area. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Perform all maintenance and repairs on various pieces of heavy equipment and on-road trucks
Perform preventive maintenance on all company owned vehicles and equipment
Perform DOT Inspections
Ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
Ability to interpret diagnostic manuals and schematics
Some travel required
Candidate Profile:
Skilled in the use of a variety of hand tools, gas and electric welding equipment, jacks, and hoists
Considerable knowledge of occupational hazards and safe work practices
Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Detailed and organized
Basic computer skills
Job Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years heavy equipment mechanic experience required
Commercial Driver License (CDL Class B) with clean driving record required
DOT Certification required
Work Hours & Compensation:
Availability for odd working hours, weekends & nights if needed
Compensation: Hourly Wage (weekly pay-period)
Benefits
Union Benefits. Hourly Range $31.51-$45.01.
