Residential Carpenter

Meridian Construction Company was founded with the goal of providing excellent service and craftmanship to our clients throughout the entire construction process. The Residential Construction Carpenter in Training is a full-time position at Meridian Construction Company. The position is comprised of construction functions and will require the applicant to work closely with both their team lead carpenter and other construction team members. The position will be a helper and will learn to perform duties including but not limited to; framing, sheeting, cabinets, hanging interior/exterior doors, interior trim work, tile installation, building decks, installing lap and board and batten exterior siding, hanging soffit and fascia, windows etc. Both new construction & remodeling projects.

Salary Range – $18.00 - $22.00 per hour, depending on experience. Full time position.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Complete construction tasks given to you by your team lead journeyman by the scheduled end date.

Clock in and out daily with our onsite time system, allowing the administrative staff to accurately job cost.

Maintain confidentiality regarding personal and company information.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Learn Framing & sheeting for both new construction and remodel projects.

Learn Cabinet installation for both new construction and remodel projects.

Learn to Hang interior & exterior doors throughout a new construction home and remodel project.

Learn to trim out the entire interior of a home. (Windows, Doors, Baseboard, etc.)

Learn to install tile, whether it be on the floor or in a custom shower or bath.

Learn to build composite decks.

Learn to hang lap and board and batten siding.

Learn to install soffit and fascia.

Learn to install windows for both new construction and remodel projects.

Ability to work as a team and work in a fast-paced environment.

Education & Experience

No Related Construction Experience Needed

Required: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Other Qualifications

Valid Montana Driver’s License.

Ability to pursue learning the construction trade.

Integrity and Honesty a Must.

Work Environment

Work is performed in an outside environment. At Meridian Construction Company, we keep our crews working year-round, which means that during the summer an employee can experience extremely hot temperatures and during the winter an employee can expect often freezing temperatures. The jobsite will be loud, with power tools running often.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, and see. The employee may be required to lift objects more than 100 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time permanent position receiving health and accident insurance benefits after 60 days employment. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, with usual weekday hours being 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The position requires the ability to work the occasional evening or weekend.

Travel

Travel is sometimes expected for this position; however, Meridian Construction Company rarely leaves the greater Flathead Valley area.
