ProAmpac innovates, engineers and manufactures flexible and sustainable packaging and material science solutions for various consumer, healthcare, e-commerce, retail and industrial goods markets.Position OverviewThe Summer Intern will learn from and participate with our Corporate EHS Team’s ongoing deployment of our ProActive Safety Management System while working in one of our manufacturing sites in either Tulsa, OK; Chicago, IL: or Wrightstown / Neenah, WI. This internship will shadow and work with the local leadership teams to learn and assist with the implementation of the EHS programs with the front-line leaders and operators on our manufacturing shop floor as well as support the development of any new Corporate wide initiatives. The project objectives are to make a safer workplace, maintain compliance, and lead community stewardship in each of our sites. This internship will provide the incumbent the opportunity to learn about and participate in this type of implementation in a hands-on setting.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES· Assists with the implementation of safety and environmental policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations. This includes written programs, recordkeeping, reports, inspections, monitoring, testing, and training.· Supports on-site and Corporate EHS initiatives, assignments, projects, and processes. A potential project that the intern will work on are assessing hazardous waste streams generated across the sites, assisting in the alignment to develop common waste profiles, and participating in a Request for Proposal to identify one or two key vendors to establish corporate contracts with for hazardous waste removal. Another potential project will be to be support the enhancement of our Lockout Tagout safety program specifically the development of alternative methods and training.· Completes, as assigned, monthly environmental recordkeeping and inspections as needed to assure compliance with applicable permits, regulations, and requirements.· Assists with EHS programs, including hazardous waste disposal, cost control/reduction and accident prevention/ reduction, safety behavior audit and risk assessment programs.· Participates with site safety committee to inspect organization facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and helps with follow up to ensure measures have been implemented.· Learns to help analyze manufacturing processes, evaluating production machinery and or chemical exposures to determine safety hazards and alternative solutions.· Conducts inspections and audits to ensure compliance to the ProAmpac EHS standards.PREFERRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS· Interest in Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety, or related field. Pursuit of BS degree or related Associate Degree is required.· GPA of 3.0 or higher· Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point), Visio, Teams and Outlook a plus· Time management and organization skills.
